Graduate Scholar Winners

Anna Jerzewska
Anna Jerzewska is a third year PhD student at the University of Leeds (UK), currently conducting fieldwork research at Waseda University on a scholarship from the White Rose East Asia Centre (WREAC). Previously she has completed an MA in International Relations in East Asia at the Department of International Relations and Political Studies, University of Lodz. She has also spent one year at the Department of Management and Department of Japanese Language and Culture, University Jean Moulin Lyon 3, France.


Abhishek Kolipey


Yeo Leng Leng
Yeo Leng Leng graduated from National University of Singapore with Honors degree in Japanese Studies. She received a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Distinction) from the Singapore National Institute of Education, specializing in teaching Chinese Language at Primary Level. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of Language and Society, Hitotsubashi University in Japan. She also appears on a regular NHK TV program ‘Cool Japan’; a talk show on cultures.

Chang-Won Park

Chang-Won Park earned his PhD from Durham University, U.K. in January 2009. He is currently Honorary Research Associate of the Centre for Death & Life Studies at Durham University; Senior Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Religion at Sogang University, South Korea; Managing Editor of the Journal of Korean Religions. His recent publications include Cultural Blending in Korean Death Rites: New Interpretive Approaches (Continuum, 2010).
